The Laxstone Story

This isn’t a glamping site. It’s the start of a ranch.

Andy, somewhere between cattle and closing time.

I’ve been a farmer all my life. And when you’re a farmer, it isn’t really a job — it becomes your whole way of life.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had this slightly ridiculous dream of having my own ranch. Not just owning some land and calling it a ranch, but actually living it.

I want the cattle. I want my own sustainable herd. I want to know where our food comes from, how those animals have been raised and that they’ve been looked after properly. Eventually, I want Laxstone to produce its own beef, have its own butchery and become a working example of how farming can be done responsibly, sustainably and with respect for the land and the animals.

My last farm was a beautiful place. The problem was, I probably spent 80% of my life away from it.

And that taught me something.

This time, I don't want to build a farm that I have to leave in order to live my life.

I want to build my life around the farm.

That idea is really where Laxstone Ranch began.

I want to create somewhere people can come and experience a little bit of the life I love. Somewhere you can stay, eat, drink, sit around a fire, meet people, laugh too loudly, look across a field and remember that life doesn't always need to be complicated.

And as Laxstone grows, I want the experience to grow with it.

I want people to understand farming and why it still matters. I want them to see where food actually comes from. I want them to experience good farming rather than just hear people talk about it.

But more than anything, I want Laxstone to become a place that means something to people.

Come here for a night away. Come for a beer. Come for the food. Bring your mates. Bring your family.

Fuck it — one day, come and get married here.

There is a much bigger dream behind what you see today.

A proper herd. Our own beef. A butchery. Food produced here. People staying here. Celebrations, weddings and long evenings around the fire.

A working farm with a whole life happening around it.

Basically?

I want to be a fucking John Dutton.

Except this isn't Montana.

This is Laxstone.

And we're only just getting started.

Come and see what we are building.
